Apostle John Henry Smith preaches in England: "I spoke upon the history of Joseph Smith and also upon the baptism for the dead and also upon the doctrine of plural marriage, stating that we do not teach that principal in England as it is contrary to the law." At the time plural marriage was also contrary to U.S. law.
