[Apostle Brigham Young Jr. Diary] Excellent feeling among us once more. Committee report was acceptable making presiding Bishops the medium through which all church funds are collected and he is also the treasurer. I objected to placing this power in the bishops hands and think that he is virning. Of course means are wholly subject to order of president. I approve of a business system such as Contemplated in the report.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what "virning" is. There is a Virning surname. There is a "virning fork" -- but that doesn't seem to fit this context.
