Several curious tidbits that happened on this day in Mormon History
130 years ago today - Jul 19, 1884
Joseph Fielding Smith is baptized in City Creek in Salt Lake City, the fourth of four future Presidents to be baptized in this location. (He is eight years old.)
In The Church of Jesus Christ (WHQ: Monongahela, Pennsylvania), we have never ever baptized anyone younger than age 13. Several have been baptized at that age, but not many, and they were definitely mature at all levels and were considered by the brethren to have arrived at the "age of accountability" at that tender age. Baptizing anyone at age 8, however, is considered baptizing little children per the BOM account and as such is an abomination in the sight of God. Joseph Smith was dead wrong on this matter, i.e., his false revelation about age 8.
