Concerning the proper position of the altar in a prayer circle * as to whether it should face the east or south * there is no rule, though the custom is to generally have them face the south. Pres[ident] [Lorenzo] Snow says he always aims to face the chief temple in offering his prayers.

  1. The 1847-1894 LDS (most all of them) faced toward Salt Lake; the Muslims face toward Mecca; the Jews face toward the Wailing Wall in Old Jerusalem. It really is totally irrelevant. What we today should all look towards and forward to, if God grants that we may all live to see those days, is where the beautiful city of Zion, aka, The New Jerusalem, will be built - somewhere on the land of the current 48 states of the USA. It is NOT Salt Lake City, Independence, Missouri, or even Monongahela, Pennsylvania. It will be built on virgin land that never has ever had a city built thereon. That is one of the blessed Book of Mormon hopes of The Church of Jesus Christ (WHQ: Monongahela, Pennsylvania).

  2. There will be no man-made temples of any type or of any denomination in this beautiful city of God. As a matter of fact, there will be no man-made temples of any type or of any religious denomination on the entire earth when this day comes to pass. This sparkling city will be built by the American Indians with the repentant Gentiles (non-American Indians) assisting them. These events will take place only after The Choice Seer, the future full-blooded American Indian Moses comes forth out of this land of the 48 states and restores his people to their rightful ownership and governorship of every square foot of North, Central, and South America.
