[First Presidency message] Since the Church is worldwide with many thousands of our members citizens of the enemy countries-members who deeply love their homeland, and who individually are no more responsible for this terrible holocaust than we have been-we feel it is essential that the Church as such should make its observance of "V-Day" of a character that would not grieve or wound the feelings of those whose mother country is one of the enemy states.

ReplyDeleteV-E day, of course, was still almost exactly 8 months ahead (May 8, 1945).
Someday in the future, ONLY with the help of the God of the whole earth, Jesus Christ, there will be a V-I day (Victory over the violent, bloody, murderous, and genocidal psychopaths - the Islamic fanatics and extremists).
Awake, great nation - on your knees,
Perhaps your God will hear your pleas;
For he can give the victors shout,
And drive the enemy without.
