Joseph Standing.
ReplyDeleteThe whole truth of this was that Standing suddenly grabbed a pistol that a member of the mob had left unguarded on a nearby tree stump and shouted for the mob to surrender when one of the mob on the reflex reaction of self-defense shot Standing in the forehead killing him. Sometime later the rest of the mob of about 12 men riddled him with 20 bullets in the face and neck. The 3 men who were acquitted were Andrew Bradley, Jasper P.Nations, and Hugh Blair.
